Self Esteem
The way you think and feel about yourself and your self worth can be summarised as your self esteem. Often, self-esteem encompasses strong beliefs about the self in regards what you deserve and are worthy of as a person. If your self-esteem has been injured in the past (i.e., going through a relationship breakdown, being made redundant at work or being bullied) it is quite normal to also experience self doubt which in turn again reinforces a lack of esteem. This vicious cycle is what keeps many people caught up in feeling worthless, unsure, useless, insecure, and lacking confidence.
Learning to care for, respect and like oneself is not easy, however with the help and guidance from a psychologist, it can be achieved. When low self-esteem turns into self confidence, it also gives rise to self belief, all of which lead to a richer, more meaningful and vibrant life.
